Kaza

The main town of the Spiti valley and our base for local sightseeing days.

Spiti river and bare golden hills at Kaza

About Kaza

Kaza is Spiti’s largest town, set beside the wide Spiti river among bare, golden hills. It has the valley’s main market, fuel, homestays and hotels, which makes it the natural base for the high villages around it.

We stay in Kaza from day 4 to day 7: two local sightseeing days and a slow day that doubles as rest for altitude and a buffer for weather.
